About Jessica Shold, photographer and writer
I live in the small town of Floodwood in Northeastern Minnesota with my five year old son Nikoli. I am a Zookeeper and trainer at the Lake Superior Zoo. Photography and animals are my passion.
Every year, in January, I pack up my gear and truck deep into the northwoods to follow teams of sled dogs for the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. It is the one thing that I do without fail that reminds me that I am still a photographer.
A lot of my passions are fueled by the influence of my parents. My daddy is my original photography inspiration. My mom was a zookeeper for several years and still works with animals. I believe those two things together is what molded me into the person I am today.
Now writing and taking pictures for the Floodwood Forum!
